Your homepage will contribute 5% to your final grade and should evolve throughout the semester as you learn new coding techniques.

Requirements for Each Version:

Version 1 (due class 2)

  • Must include:
    • Basic HTML learned in Week 1
    • Page title
    • Your name
    • Major and year
    • Email address
    • Short bio (150 words) describing your career aspirations and goals
    • Unordered list of 3 artistic/design influences
    • Ordered list of your top 5 most visited websites
  • Use appropriate HTML tags.
  • Save as index.html.

Version 2 (due class 3)

  • Updates include:
    • Edited bio for spelling and grammar
    • Links to your email, influences, and top 5 sites
    • Link to the syllabus project
    • A photo of yourself
    • CSS to style backgrounds, colors, margins, and fonts

Version 3 (due class 6)

  • Updates include:
    • Use of div tags, IDs, and classes to revise layout
    • Links to the projects

Versions 4-6 (ongoing)

  • Updates include:
    • Link to the single-page site project
    • Link to the final project
    • Additional images
    • Substantial layout changes (CSS)
    • Appropriate HTML modifications
  • There is no specific due date for these. Upload each version as completed and email me when updates are live.

Grading Criteria:

  • To earn a C, include a minimum of 3 major updates/layout modifications.
  • To earn an A, include 6 or more updates.
